GC Angels, has joined forces with NorthInvest to spearhead the execution of Fund Her North initiatives throughout the North West region. This partnership underscores their mutual dedication to advancing female-led innovation and driving economic transformation through investments, collaboration, and expertise.

Having already committed to the Investing in Women Code, GC Angels is elevating its commitment by actively engaging in Fund Her North initiatives to foster female investment. Initially centred in Greater Manchester, GC Angels aims to extend its influence across the North West, encompassing areas such as Cumbria, Merseyside, Cheshire, and Lancashire. The goal is to ensure that female founders across this region have both access to capital and comprehensive support.

Archangels, a leading business angel syndicate investing in early-stage Scottish life sciences and technology companies, is bolstering its funding fire power after securing a £12m co-investment agreement with British Business Investments via its Regional Angels Programme.

The British Business Bank is working with Mint Ventures – Scotland’s women-led angel investment syndicate – to improve access to finance for female business owners and to grow the pool of women angel investors. 

With support from the Bank, Mint Ventures is raising awareness of the opportunities available to female investors and highlighting the potential barriers that contribute to an angel investor gender gap.

Prof Norbert Morawetz and Chris Rees have been appointed as Managing Directors of Henley Business Angels (HBA), succeeding Jurek Sikorski, who has been leading HBA since its establishment in 2016. 

South East Angels, an active and growing angel group based in Brighton, has surpassed £1 million in investments into startups. Since being founded in November 2020 by Kristina Pereckaite, the group has been dedicated to "plugging the gap" in funding outside of London in the South East region.

We have been busy building up our map of angel networks around the world - and it's certainly true that the power of angel investors is spread far and wide.  Our map now includes angel networks across the UK & Ireland, Europe and Africa.  And we are working on adding Asia, North America, Australia to name a few.  So keep watching this space. 

Female founder-focussed Angel network Angel Academe has made its 48th investment in women's health platform Adora Health, in addition to making a follow-up investment in professional network The Dots.
